Arun Ravindran, Ph.D.

I am an Associate Professor with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

I explore how generative AI can be integrated into systems and application software to enable scalable, intelligent solutions. My current research focuses on utilizing generative AI for cybersecurity, electronic design automation, and education. I am involved in a National Science Foundation-funded project to develop a scalable edge infrastructure for real-time AI-driven video analytics. I am passionate about hands-on system prototyping and staying at the cutting-edge of technology. I enjoy collaborating with industry and academia, innovating teaching and learning, and mentoring students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

I received my Ph.D. from The Ohio State University, and undergraduate degrees from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. In my spare time, I enjoy travel, Argentine Tango, BBQ, and Yoga.
